I came up with this game where I bothered someone to play along with me. You take a SP character, an object around you and an emotion and write a few paragraphs based on it. It gets creative juices flowing and I have a problem with writing anything really long. I did this one a while ago, I hope you play along. When you finish your drabble you can come up with one for the next person.
Kyle/Fan/Nervousness
Night time sucked, especially in summer. Kyle’s cheap ass parents never left the air conditioning on at night. Colorado summers were brutal but so was the fucking thick curly hair he had inherited from them. Hat securely on, Kyle layed on top of his blankets and sheets pouring sweat, still though, he just felt better with the hat. His fucking hat. To combat the wretched heat he got up and crossed the room, flipping the switch on the wall and the old ceiling fan whirring to life. Kyle layed back down on top of the mess of sheets and blankets, his bed was always so comfortable when he had to get up for school or something else important, how could it be so uncomfortable now? He was pretty sure if he took off his hat he would be ever so slightly cooler, but…
Kyle got up once again and peeked through the curtain of his bedroom window. The moon was silver and it looked cold out there, cooler than inside his bedroom at least. Kyle dare not open the window though. He always kept the window secure and locked tight. He could never be sure who would come sneaking through, wanting to do something terrible to him, or actually Kyle had a very good idea of who that person would be.
Hat securely on, window securely locked tight, ceiling fan to block out the bumping noises that always came from his parent’s bedroom at this time of night. Still Kyle could not get the bad feeling out of the pit of his stomach. Nights like this were the worst, maybe Kyle should invest in some kind of weapon, to keep by his bedside.
